BIOGRAPHY - English

I was born in a small Eastern-Slovakian village called Zemplínske Hámre in the Snina region. In my hometown, I began with my musical studies provided by private teachers. At the age of fifteen, I started to serve as an organist at the Parish Church of St. Joseph in Zemplínske Hámre. Occasionally, I also became organist at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Belá nad Cirochou. When I was twenty-years-old, I moved to Kremnica. From 1997 to 2006, alongside my career path, I actively served as organist in both, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi as well as the Church of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. At this time, I studied the organ at the professor Ladislav Kisso in Prievidza. During this period, I attended the programme for organists organised by the Catholic University in Ružomberok. I took the following courses: Pipe Organ Literature; Conducting; Gregorian Chant and Liturgy. At the same time, I studied singing, more specifically tenor voice, for four years. In 2007, as a consequence of my career progression, I moved to Vienna, where I also served as organist. I attended private classes at Vienna conservatoire in the field of organ music and cembalo. In 2011, I moved back to Slovakia. As an employee of the Museum of Coins and Medals, I worked as a tour guide at Kremnica town castle, where I presented the unique church organ to visitors. I worked as a tour guide until 2015. At this time, I undertook private organ classes in Austria, Salzburg, at Universitat Mozarteu. Moreover, I was mentored by Thomas Maerkel in Germany, in the region of Bayern, in the parish of Oberweosse, Traunstein, Rosenheim.

Currently, I serve as organist in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Žiar nad Hronom. In addition, I am also a member of the deanship of Žiar nad Hronom, where I participate in catholic masses, weddings, and funerals. I actively co-operate with the National Bank of Slovakia, particularly with the Museum of Coins and Medals, by offering an educational experience in the form of music performance and concerts in the Church of Saint Catherine at Kremnica Town Castle. Thanks to good relations with the management of the Museum of Coins and Medals, I can provide presentations of the organ to the castle's visitors. During short organ performances, I am able to show the uniqueness of the organ at a different intensity as well as timbre. I am also a member of the church ensemble of Saint Magdalene in the parish of Lovčica-Trubín, where I serve as a chorus master and a tenor singer.
